Helder Mendes is a dually board-certified Psychiatric-Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP-BC) and Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP-C), and the founder of Emerald Psych LLC. Drawing on over decades of nursing experience and nearly one decade as an Advanced Practice Nurse, Helder brings a deep, holistic understanding of physical and mental well-being to his practice.

Based in New Jersey, Emerald Psych LLC is a dedicated telehealth practice designed to make high-quality mental health care accessible, flexible, and welcoming. Helder specializes in comprehensive psychiatric evaluations and medication management for adults navigating anxiety, depression, and mood disorders. Fluent in English, Portuguese, and Spanish, he is passionate about breaking down language barriers and delivering culturally affirming, LGBTQ+ inclusive care.

Helder’s strong clinical foundation is backed by extensive education, including multiple degrees from Rutgers University, a Master of Healthcare Administration from Seton Hall University, a Master in Nursing specializing in Family Nurse Practitioner from Chamberlain University, and a Post-Master's Certificate in Psychiatric-Mental Health Nurse Practitioner from Wilkes University. Through Emerald Psych, he strives to provide a safe, convenient space for patients to find wellness and thrive.
